Swagelok® High-Volume Swaging Unit Improves Assembly and Installation Time, Offers Enhanced Reliability

SOLON, Ohio (November 13, 2013) – Engineered to streamline nut-ferrule installation, Swagelok Company introduces the new Swagelok® High-Volume Swaging Unit (HVSU) aimed to increase safety and productivity for the oil and gas, alternative fuel, and general industries.

The HVSU enables installers to easily preswage Swagelok nut-ferrule sets onto stainless steel tubing. The pneumatically driven and electronically controlled semiautomatic unit uses sensors to start and stop the process for consistent preswaging results. This process provides several reliability and convenience features including: 

•  Automatic start when tubing is inserted and properly bottomed; 
•  Prevention of over swaging with stroke-limiting tooling; 
•  Easy to switch from one tube fitting size to another—no tools are needed to change sizes; 
•  High cycle life and cycle counter to facilitate preventive maintenance.
